I got to know the busy ring road around Chiang Mai a few months back, sitting on the back of an oversized macho fake Harley Davidson kind of motorbike when I came all the way down (exactly 762 curves later...) from the hippie mountain village Pai with my Canadian friend Keefer. I must've held my breath for half of the ride and was squishing his ribs holding on to him tightly.
This time it is my turn to show off my skills as a driver. After biking in and around Pai for about 4 months (sometimes with even 2 people on the back while heavily loaded with kilos of fruits and vegetables), I must say I can manage the motorbike pretty darn well.
Women on a mission
With our gas tanks freshly filled and our sparkly scarves on the head, we're all set to ride out to a healing center called LannaYoga.
Driving on the busy Chiang Mai highway was a piece of cake. Malina, my beautiful friend and I are floating through traffic, guided and protected in our powerful golden shakti bubble. She is leading the way as she has visited the healing center before. What an amazing driver she is. If I would have to count all of the curves she has defied on her way to Pai and back to Chiang Mai and back to Pai and back to Chiang Mai, exposed to extremely wet weather conditions and earthquakes...
Ofcourse at one point us fruit bats pull over to buy the mandatory fruit one brings when invited to someone's home. Mandatory, especially when you have invited yourselves over. We happily zigzag on and I do my best to remember reference points as I already sense that this first visit to the center will not be my last...
My feeling gets confirmed rapidly. As we take a left turn exiting the highway, I am overwhelmed with emotion and tears start rolling down my cheeks. All of the surroundings and myself go in slow motion mode. I am aware of the sun rays on my skin, the vibrancy of nature, the smells, the sounds... My whole being relaxes soaking in all this tranquillity.
I feel like I've just entered a golden dome. Every villager I pass smiles at me. Real genuine smiles from soul to soul.
I spot Malina in the distance and a few minutes later, we're going down the LannaYoga driveway. The trees are greeting me as we get closer to the front door. I am home.
I will call the main building the "temple". Malina had been here twice before and wanted me to meet the magic man of Lanna Yoga. She briefly mentioned having had a sound healing session while lying under a light. I got to understand better what that light was all about when checking out the videos on the website ajnalight.com the night before.
So, as the Universe guided me to this new little vortex, I moved into the temple just a few days later. Sleeping in between the crystals was enough buzz for me the first few days. People would come and go to have a session under the Light. I was closely observing like a curious kid, intrigued by the changes in the visitors' eyes and the peace radiating from them after their session. I enjoyed their feedback so much and felt my first adventure with the Light coming closer.
Let the journalling begin.
